there's an outfit in Moscow Idaho that does this repair now for lt pumps. I was going to send mine in but turns out it was a bad wiring harness. may I suggest you mess with the wiring harness near where it attaches to the frame above it. I removed the tiewraps jiggled the wires and low and behold the veer noise started right up when I squeezed the lever. not saying it isn't the pump but mine wasn't! thought it was but then, I was mistaken. I'll see if I can find the reply I got from them but google abs pump Moscow, id and it should come up. slightly cheaper than Germany and less shipping if you use uspl flate rate box. I did mention it in a post on here a year back too. https://modulemaster.com/rebuilds/shop/brakes/abs-modules/abs-fte-abs3/ appears they aren't doing it yet. maybe a call.
I think modulemaster has been going to be capable of repairing iABS units in “6 more months” for at least 10 years now... >:)

They did my 2008 RT’s abs unit (whatever type that is) a couple of months ago. Totally satisified.

Module Masters fixed my iABS Teves.
But the iABS servo they are still unable to fix.
And they’d make a pretty penny on those too...

The procedure is described in the BMW service manual (actually CD-ROM) and there used to be a pdf on this site that walked through the process pretty well. Not sure if that file still exists after the site revamp as I know several things seemed to get lost.

I can no longer find the file that I downloaded many years ago, but this one should help you. https://www.bmwlt.com/forums/attach...es/84394d1436402795-notes-changing-brake-lines-lt-changing-brake-lines-rev4.pdf
This is very helpfull information, thanks a lot.

I would like to buy "speedbleeders", does anyone knows the size of the thread for the caliperbleeder on a 2003 K1200 LT?

It is an S-10 but you really don't need them if you buy the speed bleeder bag and hose. Hook up the hose and elevate the bag and open the bleeder and pump away. Any air bubbles will NOT travel down the hose so it makes it a one man operation. I have been doing this for years on the LT. The speed bleeder nipples have a thread sealing compound on the threads that make it difficult to move them and tell when they are fully seated. But their bag is fantastic and only $6.00 (last time I checked).

Ok so I had the day of work today and have finally fitted the repaired ABS module into the bike, Its Working better than ever. To say I am chuffed doesn't come close. I did have a bit of trouble with the electrical connection as I managed to bend a pin.

No matter it straightened out ok and i have now put it all back together.

So we have a repair for the ABS evo brake system.

Congrats but you did repair a leaking unit only since you you no other failure like a pressure sensor or actual pump motor (well I guess the fact you opened up a motor and got it back together is fantastic). But that does not diminish what you have accomplished - well done. Now if you could make up a good list of all the bits you used that would be a big help for the group here. Thanks in advance!

No the company who rebuilt the unit replaced some internal components.

All I did was remove it and replace with the addition of 5 new seals that they recommend on the hard lines.

Very happy to report it passed its MOT
Test today.

Don't be intimidated by the job. It was surprisingly easy and I suppose I should do a write up so am to encourage owners to get stuck in

My bad I had you mixed up with the guy in Belgium that was replacing leaking seals and o-rings on his unit. I did look at the BBA-Reman web site in the US and they listed several BMW units but not the LTs by part number so I may give them a call this week and see what they have to say in light of the UK office being able to repair them.

Hello guys

Yesterday i finally got the time to assemble my abs units with new oil seal and o-rings.
Got it back in the bike, bled the system first manually to the abs units and then automatic (using the abs pump), went for a ride (without the tupperware). when i came back the leak was still there.

Got the abs units out again (went very smooth), opened it and noticed that the small rod of the motor is showing grooves (wear).
I think that is the reason of the leak.

So i think i have 3 options

1- looking for a replacement motor for the abs unit
2- try to repair the rods (glue-ing a hardened bush d5 - D7 on the rod and looking for a bigger oil seal)
3- bypass the abs

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Can you please do the Wright up for removing the servo pump. I got my system working or so I thought but the brakes failed again and I had to travel 150 miles with little or no brakes to get the bike back home, not some thing I would like to repeat. Thanks in advance if you can do this.

Hello Guys, i am back.

It took a while to get back working in my bike since i had twisted my ankle 10 weeks ago.

so where was i ? OK 3 options :

1- looking for a replacement motor for the abs unit
2- try to repair the rods (glue-ing a hardened bush d5 - D7 on the rod and looking for a bigger oil seal)
3- bypass the abs

1 - i bought a replacement (defect) abs pump (€50) with ok rotors, took the motors out and put them in my abs unit. Bled the system (took for ages). Drove about 200 km without problems. Stopped to eat, got back on the bike turned the key and heard only one pump do the initialisation! I drove off, with abs flashing light @1 hz + ! signal light on. After 2 km's i was without front brakes, the rear brake still did something. I came home after terrible and very slow ride, took the tupperware off and noticed that the rear reservoir (control and frontbrakes) was below the minimum level. I inspected the bike brakes and didn't find any leaks. So i don't know where the brakefluid went to.

In any case, I am tired of these ABS problems and think about bypass the system, i found this on ebay :

www.ebay.co.uk/itm/EMULATOR-ABS-PUM...PUMP-MODULATOR-PUMPE-BMW-R-1150-K-1200-GS-GT-LT-RS-S-RT-ST-R-C-CL-/262895740608

Does anyone know these guys or is somebody using this?

Looking forward to your responce

That is an easy way to bypass as it is all done at the pump area. But you can do the same thing by removing your circuit board and snipping two leads (to turn off the flashing lights) and hooking it back up to the harness (this will give you spedo and brake lights). Then you can just use a union up front and a new special hose in the back.
