Mouse chewed wires

I am working on a 2008 R1200RT for a friend. He bought the bike with a few issues. It wasn't running and the transmission had been shelled. Anyway someone had started taking the bike apart to repair the transmission and left it in pieces. A mouse has made a meal of the wiring harness. I have repaired all the wiring except for two wires. The wires are chewed into on the left side just below the throttle cable junction. The colors are green with a blue stripe and green with a black stripe and the connector is gone. I think maybe they connect to what I assume is a throttle position switch coming out of the throttle cable junction box, but the wires are solid blue and solid black. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know how damaged the harness was but I've seen a 2008 harness for sale on eBay for $90.
Could be simpler to just replace it completely.

YMMV

Replacing a wiring harness is usually a great deal of work requiring the total strip down of the frame and repairing the harness is often easier.

I've already repaired all but the two wires I mentioned, I just don't know where they go. If I got a look at another bike it would only take about a minute to fix this one. I think the two wires go to the microswitch on the cable distributor. The wires on the microswitch are one blue and one black, the two on the harness are a green/blue and a green/black. Assuming I am correct the green/blue would connect to the blue and the green/black would connect to the black wire. I just hate assuming anything.

I have the BMW electrical diagrams on CD that you could buy from the dealer many years ago - not sure if they are sill offering as a retail part to individuals. This CD is Windows based application only and includes all models 1993-2008 (part number: 01 79 7 720 399)

So... let me try my best guess using these diagrams for R1200RT (2008):
1) assuming you have the factory electronic cruise-control (left handlebar combo switch), there is indeed a 2 wire micro-switch located inside the throttle cables junction box.

2) For this micro-switch , based on wiring diagram, there is a minor variation from yours specs above:
- one wire is Green-Blue
- However the other one should be Green-Black with some added YELLOW , so please check. Note that 3 colors wire are not very common in their harness, but this is as published on CD.

To confirm, what I would do is use a static (no load, no battery) resistance test using OhmMeter as follow:
- the Green-Blue wire should have continuity with pin 6 of the cruise-control unit large 10 pins connector (same 2 colors at this end of the large connector). See attached picture to spot this 10 pins cruise-control main unit connector.

- the Green-Black-Yellow wire should have continuity with pin 4 of the cruise-control unit large 10 pins connector (same 3 colors at this end of the large connector)

- If above tests confirm that we have the 2 wires of throttle micro-switch, then... OF COURSE USING GERMAN LOGIC, the Green-Blue is to be paired with BLACK wire of the micro-switch AND the other one with the BLUE wire of the micro-switch ;-) According to my logic, I know it should be the opposite, but I have double checked the wiring diagram and this is what they have published for all diagrams of R1200RT (all years).

NOT 100% sure for the R1200RT, but on earlier models K1200RS/K1200LT having a similar electronic cruise-control, you could ride even with this throttle micro-switch missing or disconnected. HOWEVER, the cruise-control would NOT shut down when the throttle grip is pressed on its forward stop. Cruise will still dis-engage by pressing either brakes Lever/Pedal OR clutch lever (as these are separate micro-switches).

CAN YOU CONFIRM if your Green-Black wire ALSO had some YELLOW on it (3 colors wire) ?
