Should I bother zapping my fuel strip? If I decide to do it, does it have to be removed from the fuel tank?
From a previous RT, I have a BMW Tankribbon emulator I never installed. Anyone have any history with it?
I have no problem with using the tripmeter, have done for 50 years on old iron.

Dealer quoted me $600.00 for the "new improved" fuel strip. (had to mute the phone while I laughed)
40K miles on my 2010 RT.
Also, what's with that exhaust flapper, is it really necessary?

Thanks

Well your dealer may be referring to the newly design unit made in Europe and not by BMW. It sells for $178. But you can zap your old one it in the tank as I have done at least thirty bikes that way, but it will fail again.

After checking with the parts list it looks like BMW has updated the fuel strip as it now costs $310 now.
