Someone had a link to Harbor Freight's deep socket that fit the R1200RT, I did a search of the forums with no luck. Can someone help me with this and re-post the link?

Thanks

Thanks, I got it now. I will take a ride to Harbor Freight in Worchester MA Thursday and pick one up.

Just be aware in using it that, as I found out, it may not fit quite right. I was able to replace the main plugs, but, had to ask a local mechanic to borrow his turned-down on a lathe version to remove and replace the secondary plugs. Others have not had the same experience, but, just be aware.

Mine fits...

Be aware that there may be (is?) a rubber dingus inside the socket that holds the top of the plug. If you are not perfectly aligned with the axis of the plug it may be difficult to fit onto it... leaving the impression that there is a blockage elsewhere...

your actual mileage may vary...

and

keep an eye out for the 20 percent off on Harbor Freight things... coupon which now seem to be everywhere. Ask for the Free LED Flashlight... small enough to always have on the bike.

and...

If you are having to make a trip out of going to HF... look closely at their Metric Hex's with the 3/8th inch drive. Mighty handy for removing the rear wheel and the other bits when you do a Final Drive Service. Then there is the T-Handle Metric Hex kit... looks great on your bench... The chrome Metric Wrench set is also handy, not to mention pretty.

Thankx Hopz, looks like I better put the top case, panniers and tank bag on for the trip there!
