Aux Earphone Wiring ??????

I want to install a 1/8" stereo female receptacle to use earphones at highway speeds. I have pulled the left rear speaker to examine the leads into the speaker. My 2000 has a solid yellow and a yellow with a stripe. On the top case harness there is a set of purple lead wires, one solid and one with a stripe. My question... Is the solid in both cases the "hot" current wire OR is the stripe the hot current wire?

On my 02 the stripe is the hot lead. Not sure but would suspect they would be the same for an 00.

Earphone Jack

Clip a jumper from the speaker to the earphones to see if it works. Simple. If you get audio, hard wire it in.
