In my quest for a cooler summer ride, I would like to remove the clear wind deflectors underneath the windshield. There seem to be 2 screws that are inaccessible. Does anyone know how to access those wind deflectors?
How do you remove the fairing in the photo?

I think i can help you here seeings i hit a deer the other morning and that very plastic piece was the only real damage apart from bent back rear crash bar and bent aux light bracket. So you will access the screws by removing the speaker and the others are at the front, there is also a push button thingy which pushes into a grommet.
Hope this helps you, and thanks for the next project.

Of all the high tech methods for staying cool, nothing I've tried beats the tried and true method of removing your helmt, buying water (ice cold or room temp, up to you), and slowly pouring enough of it over your head so that it runs all the way down into your boots. Drink a little, pour a little, but soak yourself thoroughly. Once you're riding again, for 30 minutes you'll have delightful a/c. The next 30 minutes will still be pleasant, but after a full hour you'll need to do it all over again. You can ride through the hottest weather with this technique so long as you don't run out of water.

Yeah, it works, but watering down every 30 minutes kinda takes the fun out of the ride :(

A guy I ride with, built himself an electric refrigeration unit that fits in a saddlebag. It attaches to one of those jackets with water tubes running through it. He says that it works very well. That's one way to eliminate the every 30-minute stops ;)

Not to quibble, but only once every hour. (30 minutes of staying cool, 30 minutes of slowly warming back up again.)

Personally, once I start to really feel the heat, I'd do it every 15 minutes if I had to. My priorities change real quick when I get uncomfortable, LOL.

Take it easy,
