Best year K1600GTL to buy

I'm thinking of moving from a 2007 R1200RT to a K1600GTL.
I certainly can't afford to buy new, so ideally I would like to buy an earlier 2011 model, as they will be cheaper than a later one.
However, reliability is more important to me as it's mainly long distance touring I do, so I would like to know what is the best year to go for in terms of reliability, improvements, bug fixes etc?
I'm still doing research on the bike, and I've read about water pump issues, clunky drive train, switch clusters etc
Is there a later year where these issues are sorted?

Pretty much any year will be a good reliably bike. I have one of the very first ones to be delivered to the states and have had very little problems in almost 50,000 miles. A few things to ask if you want to buy a 2011 - 2013 is has the water pump been replaced and has it had both left & right handle bar switch clusters replace with the new design. All were done under warranty on my bike 3 years ago. Also some of the early bikes had a "Clunky" sounding transmission when shifting. The 2014 and up has a different part number for the trans so something was changed to fix that. My trans is pretty quiet on my April 2011 built GTL. :wave
