Looking at the Garmin Zumo 665 wiring harness below, what are the two connections at the bottom of the photo for, and where do they go?

I recently had a 665 installed on my '09 LT with the BMW VOICE II intercom. I suspect these connections were not made, as I don't hear audio from the GPS (spoken GPS instructions, or MP3 music) in my helmet headset. When I use a cable to connect the GPS audio out to the intercom's Aux port, I have the audio.

I hooked the 3.5 mm jack to the aux port on the front of the voice 2. Set the radio to aux and fired up the xm radio. Got that, voice prompts and cell phone all to my helmet.
Thanks!

Is it possible to get voice prompts, etc., without switching the radio to Aux mode? My Zumo 550 worked that way, on my '05 LT. I would like to have the AM/FM radio on, with the GPS interrupting with voice prompts. I understand to get MP3 music I'd have to switch to Aux.

Also: how did you get the 3.5 mm connection up to the VOICE II? I'm looking for a solution that looks nice - not running a cable above the body and then into the glove box, etc. I'm guessing you drilled a hole to get into there.

Yes, you can also just run the radio and use the GPS. I ran the cable under the plastic to the glove box. Drilled a small hole at the top of the glove box after unscrewing it from the cover.Hole was just big enough for the cable but not the connector. You do have to take off or loose all the plastic on the top off the bike. Took about 3 hours to do but I had never had the plastic off so I had to figure out how.

The 2.5 mm female jack is a motorcycle microphone input that takes the place of the external mic on the 665 unit (when using the automotive cradle) allowing you to talk on the phone through the 665 using BT. The 3.5 mm female jack is a speaker output which also replaces the external one on the 665 allowing you to receive all the voice capabilities of the GPS through your motorcycle com unit.

Having said that, I don't believe your dealer simply failed to connect the unit to your Voice II, as I don't think the connections are readily available without some modifications. The 660/665 are much newer than the Voice system and not made for that application. The 66X units are primarily designed to use BT technology. The older Garmin units used to connect directly to the com units via a 3 wire connector under the stingray. I currently have both a Garmin 2720 and a 660 wired into my '99LT using the BMW ComSystem (precursor to Voice) and they both talk to me through my headset. I've got all the voice capabilities of both except for the BT phone connection. I still plug my phone directly into the com unit itself, as I haven't fooled with rewiring the speaker input so that I can use BT.
