ok, so it's not a beemer, but I do plan to look at a 1150RTP ((http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/mcy/3607231490.html)

I bought a 1979 Yamaha Xs 1100 Sp It was for sale for $2500. I offered $1,800 and it was accepted. But with all the taxes, title, etc, it came out to $2106.36, still lower than the original asking price. So I think I did well. Here is a link:

I sure would like to know what "Octy removed" means.

I researched the bike and in 1979 it was the most powerful bike out of Japan.

Looks like the seller has removed the CL ad. I bought a 1979 Yamaha XS 1100 SP aka XS Eleven. I hear it's a screamer!
Won't replace my LT of course, but I think it's gonna be a lot of fun for local cruising.

I have its baby brother, an XS650. Great little bike. Feels so tiny compared to the LY. Watch the brakes though. They don't compare in any way to the brakes on the big guy.
Try XJBIKES.COM. Lots of good stuff to checkto make sure its safe to ride. Be sure to replace the rear brakes due to risk of Dr lamination.
