The Menlo Rally will be held July 19 – 22. The Chinook Tribe will be doing a traditional salmon bake Friday night. The Fairgrounds Board is doing BBQ chicken and pork with a pasta buffet Saturday night. So who all is going this year?

I'll have to think about that. The firemen used to cook the salmon every year and it was always the best salmon I have ever eaten. Why mess with that.I usually wait until the last minute to get an accurate weather forecast.

The rally was good. I ended up going solo, but enjoyed lots of friends old and new. (No, I’m not talking about beer.) Unfortunately, my favorite rally item wasn’t there. Through no fault of the club, we lost the oyster folks this year. I won’t get into County politics, but I will say that I was very disappointed in more ways than one.

The fabulous Fire Department Salmon dinner was another casualty. Although the Chinook Tribe gave it a try, they had a near impossible task of filling the Fire Department Shoes.

Anyway, I had a very fun time and I found a new restaurant in Lebam that is out of this world. This would be an excellent RTE. Sheila’s Café on Hwy 6 has absolutely great food. I highly recommend it if you are in the Raymond area.

This was the fist CCR for me. I thought the rally was a lot of fun and the roads were great. I heard a lot about the salmon dinner and how horrible was blah blah. I thought as far as salmon goes it was very good. Maybe next year the fire guys will be back and I can compare the two then.

There were a number of LT's up there 5 by my count. Who was the LT that got out first Sunday morning and I passed while gassing up, the greenish color? You followed me on 101 and 4. Where those deer still by the road? Scared the [email protected]$ out me. Thought the wise guy in the group was going to cross in front of me even though his two buddies actually ran AWAY from the road.
