Hi there. I posted in the communications section but I notice K1200LT electrical questions popping up here so I'll post here just in case (hope I'm not causing any issues by doing this). I want to wire in my Starcom1 Advance into my '05 K1200LT. Has anyone done it so that when the radio is on you can hear it through the helmet? If so, how? Lastly, has anyone wired it in a way where there is a switch that can switch off the speakers on the bike but run to helmet only? I welcome any advice. Thanks!

I do that. Starcom makes an interface cable that allows you to connect into the speaker wiring and includes an isolator to keep out electric noise. The rear speakers are convenient for this. I got mine from Shango Rider

Cable is MUS-03; $40.00

There is also a switch that lets you choose bike speakers or helmet. SWT-01; $40.00

As John Said it works very well I did it on my 09 you gain the added benefit of being able to control the volume. Its pretty easy to do I would suggest that you use a couple of two prong molex plugs to hook everything up. Also make sure you connect up the wires on the downstream side of the barrel connector.
