I have wanted to add a CB radio to my mount for years.
Last year I bought a Cobra hand held unit which worked fine, even though I know It could have had better reception with the addition of a proper antenna.
What I did not like about the set up was all of the wires. I don't like being tethered to the machine.
At the bike show earlier this year, I saw a system called ScalaRider, which provides wireless rider/passenger intercom as well as working with a Bluetooth enabled cell phone. I really do not care about cell phone connectivity, but since it is designed to work this way, I will take it.
Here is a link to the ScalaRider product: http://www.maplin.co.uk/module.aspx?detail=full&ModuleNo=47992&doy=12m3#more_info
I am particulary impressed with how the microphone/hardware package clamps onto the helmet.
The missing link was CB hook-up. I came across this product which seems to be able to interface with the CB and work as a Bluetooth device. Here is the link to the Albrecht BPA 100 Bluetooth Adaptor: http://www.bb-shopping.com/products...-radio-GPS-&-MP3.htm?id=40&subid=&prodid=2163
From what I can see, think that this set-up will do the trick but I will would welcome input from community members who have more knowledge about CB radios in a motorcycle application than I do. Since I know nada, this will not be hard.
Are there any other similar Bluetooth adapters available?
Thanks for your points of view.
