I'm working on installing a set of used wilbers. My problem is mounting the rear shock reservoir. I think, if I could see a photo of the reservoir installed it would be a big help.
I searched HoW, found the install, but no info on the reservoir.

Yes, that will help for the preload adj. It is a better photo than the one I found. But what I'm after is the remote reservoir. Maybe all wilbers don't have a remote reservoir, but this one does.
I found a K12RS photo and it had the reservoir mounted on the left side of the bike, but the hose on mine is not that long. Only about 8 or 10 inches.

How pricey are they?

Rough estimate, but 99% of us who purchased Wilbers or Ohlins did so WITHOUT the remote reservoir for LT applications.
** There is the issue on the LT ... no place for it without being creative on mount location :(

I received this photo this morning.
Maybe it could be added to the HoW wilbers install info

Ah, good to see those pics.
Dealer installed my WiIbers during a service, and I wasn't sure if they'd used the best possible install position.
Looks like they put the adjuster upside down on mine (cant see the adjustment marks on top), that should be a quick fix, but the oil reservoir is in same place.

Compression, rebound & pre-load for rear, and I think rebound for front (?). Front & rear were built to specs for my needs, ie, at the light end.. 1-up commuting, at the hard end, 2-up with baggage and towing. We estimated about maybe 230-250kg all-up at the heavy end, plus towing.
Only had them installed a few weeks, I've already backed off the oil-adjuster (rear shocks) for the initial compression damping from where it was set (a bit harsh on bumps), then brought it up slowly till it felt good. And that's with the pre-load adjuster all the way out. For 2-up I should be able to just use the pre-load adjuster to compensate for extra weight.
As for the fronts, haven't played with them yet, but they feel pretty good compared to the OEM shocks. Maybe when I learn a bit more about the "feel" I'll start playing with front too. Easily done.

You can change them yourself... the rear is pretty easy. The front is more difficult.

But you will NOT believe the improved performance, stability and roadworthiness improvement in the new shocks... The "stock" are for the "easy listening" crowd... sells the "luxury" part of the bike.

If you want to have the "performance" when you need it.... like agressive maneuvers... buck up the bucks... Also, the "new" shocks can be set for your personal "useful loads"... with springs, then you can set the adjustments... and when they "wear" you can have them "rebuilt".. just like a timed out prop...no need to "replace" them. While they are being "rebuilt" you can mount your "originals" to get you by...

Thnx cws, btw did you do the install yourself or ?!?!

If yes, how did it go?
I was very gingerly trying to get myself ready to do it... but then was contacted by my local dealer/mechanic to say they were having a "winter sale" on workshop costs.
Since I needed 2 x new tyres, 60000km service, and a few things looked at... I opted for them to do it for an extra $200 while they already had the bike apart.
So I chickened out, and will never know how I would have gone..
I got to play with an F800s loaner for a couple of days while it was in the shop, so all around I'm happy...

Last Spring Training Camp I felt my shocks were gone. I decided on the Hyper Pro set up - front and rear. I have only ridden less than 60 miles of slab coming home but can feel a difference. These also have a reservoir but the guy (Tom Cutter of the Rubber Chicken Racing Garage) mounted it down under the rear foot peg. Very clean looking and very easy to get to. Keeps the area under the seat available for other stuff.

I get to dial them in this weekend on a 2 day run through the Allegheny Mts. Cant wait...
