I have the following in progress, and I need to know if I am missing anything....

2001 LT, 19815 miles.

Fluid changes- oil, anti-freeze, final drive, transmission, brake fluid flush.
Fuel & oil filter
New spark plugs (NGK)
2005 throttle cable mod
PIAA 1100x install
Modulating brake light
HID high/low beam
Lower fork bridge ball joint boot replacement
Steering dampener overhaul
Radiator fins back wash
Rear EBC disc
Rear EBC HH pads
Disconnected airbox sensor
Reposition top box aft, for passenger comfort
Speedometer correction mod
Dash lights changed to red LED
Serviced aft shock preload
Removed factory antenna, replaced with hidden amplified antenna
Connected jumper wire to add rear center running light to brake lights
Canisterectomy

I know some of this may seem like overkill, or premature, however, I just bought this K12 last month, and I want to know where she stands...

I do have new QDs in the future, along with the weep hole mod, just not this time.

Thanks for the input!

I am curious about the hidden amped antenna. Where do you buy that?
I used this from O'reily Auto Parts. I mounted inside the upper trunk lid, with sticky velcro. It works better than the original antenna, and allows me to put the cover on the bike without looking like her shirt is tucked into her underwear...

Since you have the tank off it would be so easy to add the Quick Disconnects this time around...

You are already replacing the rear rotor at 20k miles? Is it badly scored? Just wondering...

Not sure what happened to it, but the rear brakes were barely useable. The grinding and cowbell was horrible. Pads were fine, rotor was loose as a goose.

WAHOO!
Roxy went from naked to complete today. I was able to finish all of the mods, with my son helping, and put her all together tonight. Just came back from a 3am ride, and HOLY MOLY those PIAAs are bright!
Did the throttle cable mod, and had to take off the fuel rail, but not the airbox.
I did change the gearbox oil, and the chip detector was NASTY. There was quite a bit of fur on it, along with just plain gunk. I am going to run her for 1K miles and change it again. I want to make sure there is no impending issues. I don't think the previous owner had ever changed it. I can't remember if that sludgy crap was normal. I know he didn't ride much....2001 with only 19K on it....
ONE QUICK NOTE!
The boot on my lower fork bridge ball joint was torn. Plenty of grease, and no slop. BMW does not make a replacement boot, you have to buy the new ball joint at $117! I decided to remove the bridge and boot, and fit a small section of mountain bike tire inner tube over the greasy joint. PERFECT FIT. I reused the lower metal wire clip, and for the top I used .032 stainless steel lockwire. Pretty happy about that one.....
I was able to accomplish all of my mods without a hitch, and the best part is I had ZERO hardware left over! :D
Done for now, next mods will be QDs and tire pressure monitors...I cannot thank everyone on this forum enough! Past and present posts, the information here makes it possible for me to own and maintain such a beautiful girl...

Mine is making cowbell sounds at 30k. Going to try the silicone at the rivets to damp the sound a bit.

That's a pretty healthy list. Congrats on getting it all done.

Can you post a photo of the PIAAs? I'm looking for some aux. driving lights and I'm gathering ideas at this point. I liked the Motolights on my '05 LT but I had to install a second set of lights (Hella FF250s) to get some long-range effect.

Thanks.

Not sure silicone could handle the heat generated from brakes. JM2CW.

I used red RTV silicone that we use on jet engine thrust reverser insulation blankets, and it only held for about a month... The EBC was the best investment.... $148 shipped...
