I am looking for the newest laws passed in NC relatinig to motorcycles. I think the law allowing a motorcycle to run a red light has passed and taken effect. But I would like to see this one and any other new laws. I would like to see what has passed and see the "official" wording..

thanks
Randy

Three Minutes

Hi Randy,

Looks like it passed.

It's a little cumbersome to navigate, but, there it is.

I went to the home page (http://www.ncga.state.nc.us/homePage.pl) and searched "motorcycle" in the NCGA web site.

By the way, this site gives a fair all over list of laws.

The motorcycle operator who received the citation waited a minimum of three minutes at the intersection or stop bar where the steady red light was being emitted in the direction of the operator before entering the intersection."

Three minutes is a lifetime on a bike!

I'd make a right turn and then find a place for a "U"!

I'd bet you none of the authors ride.

I guess a stopwatch will be my newest Farkle :D

I watch at a couple of lights that I have to ride thru on my ride to work. One that I suspect doesn't change for bikes seems to take between 1 -2 minutes, using the clock on bike. I pull up and wait. Wait. About time a car pulss up behind me it changes immediately. BUT.... it does the same when I'm in my truck, so I think it actually pickls up the LT. A guy at work here with a GSX-R says it won;t change for him, but how long does he actually wait? Like someone said, 3 minutes feels like an eternity waiting at a stoplight.

Thanks guys.
