The toolkit that came with my 02 (just purchased) has a T45 Torx key, but that's too big for the valve covers. The T40 is too small.

Does BMW have a special size Torx bit or tool to remove the valve covers?

If my terminology is not right, I'm talking about the outermost part of the cylinder heads. Whatever that cover is called.

Hang the communists and spit! You were right, GRB60. 6mm hex. Damn hex sockets LOOK like Torx sockets from the wrong angle. Probly designed by communist agents hell bent on destroying America.
