What did you do to your RT today?

Working on the RT is a little bit of therapy and a break from my daily work routine.
Spent a couple of hours this afternoon replacing the RH cylinder head cover and detailing the bike for a weekend ride. Last week I completed the 100,000KM service, including the valve and ignition timing checks (thanks Boxflyer for your assistance).
Hopefully it stays dry this weekend..

That 8 year old RT is cleaner than my '21 with only 9,000 miles on it.. lol... and I think I clean it too much... bravo on keeping it looking that great and riding it as well.

Cheers,
Not as much riding as I would like at the moment, but that will change..:)
It was a post deployment present to myself after working with the 438th AEW.
I like tinkering as much as the riding. Having RT OCD for detailing is also something that I enjoy.
So win win for me, but I know most just enjoy the riding and that's ok too.

Hi Alan, You asked about narrower Panniers and bars.
In my quest for rear panniers, I see the BMW police bikes in CA have narrower bags / panniers on most of their bikes they are probably 7-9" wide, about half the width of what you have. I'm not sure but I think they might call them "City Bags". They look good and probably the best thing about them is that you wont smack your shin or boot on them when you mount up! Personally, I like the fat, stock ones like you have because I need to store my riding gear in them.
I haven't found any yet so if you decide to sell yours, give me a shout.
The top box is beautiful! I love the blue!
BTW, my son and family live in Montrose, Co. The Architecture on the houses look like his!

Alright, I've got about 150km on since I flashed the stage 1 tune this afternoon. I was really wondering if I'd be able to notice any difference or not. It was 100% noticeable. The bike feels smoother and pulls harder. This is only with a full exhaust. I did purchase the Sprint air filter which they claim will add 3 or 4hp, but I did not install it. I just had my bike all ripped apart this winter and installed a brand new OEM filter. It only has 700km on it! I think what I'll do is wait until next season and install the air filter and velocity stacks at the same time, and flash to stage 2. Something to look forward to...

Keep in mind, the butt dyno is only so accurate, and placebo is a real thing. But I can say quite confidently that the bike feels better. It feels smoother and more eager when I get on the throttle heavy.
I FINALLY got around to uploading my Stage1 tune as well.

Yes, the bike IS smoother, I dont feel as much vibration in my legs tucked onto the fairing at all, much better.

The exhaust sound is different as well, more velvety...I dunno, but I like it.
Cold idle is lower.
1st to 2nd gear shift assist, is more civilized as well.

And it pulls stronger too.

Dyno in June because why not.

Added a square of velcro to the end of the USB/audio cable. Keeps the cable and compartment organized.

I wish mine worked, i would love to play my music off that but it works very intermittently, My local BMW dealer claims they have never heard of any problems with them so basically ignored me.
Sorry to go off track.😀

Nice! I'm still liking mine as well. Are you running headers? Aftermarket slip-on?

No other mods, nope. I see no reason to be louder.

Oh, interesting. I assumed most people doing the tune would be doing so because of performance upgrades. Cool to hear that you noticed a difference without any supporting mods!
Ya, totes.
You notice a decrease in fuel economy? I definitely did...lol

That's not my idea of fun :(

Will need 3-4 tanks to view the trend
Did a 240 mile loop in the back country of North Dakota, to South Dakota, and back up to North Dakota. Went all 239 miles uneventful.

After filling up and coming home, had a douche bag pass my wife behind me in a no passing zone. Cut her off damn near hitting her. I didn't see it. But I suddenly noticed an orange HD on my ass. Traffic was just slow, nothing I can do except chill. Not this DBag. Rides my ass for 2 miles. I'm signaling for a right turn. Mother Effer blows by me on the right and yells "Move all along asshole". Passes the truck in front of me, at a red light no less.

Probably not the smartest thing for me to do by escalating, but I did it. We merged onto a 4 lane divided highway. He was accelerating. So I did as he said, I moved along. I banged through the quick shifter and smoked that piece of shit. The rider was a POS, not the bike. Showed him what a boxer will do compared to a fat ass cruiser.

Oh, and I found out both of our dash cams are dead! She has the Innov, I have the VIOFO. Mine might be an SD card issue, but hers is dead dead. Damn I wanted to post this dumbass on YouTube. Between both of our front/rear cams, I would have had it all on video.

Mounted and balanced an old Dunlop Roadsmart IV with 7000km. The one it replaced had 10,000km and didn't look like it had enough tread left for the trip I'd like to do this weekend.
