What Did You Do To Your LT Today

Just thought I would start a sticky to just see what is happening in the LT world.

Jean and I got out for a breakfast run and two hour ride in the Tennessee hills above Alabama. This is the first time we have been out since before my surgery on the left thumb July 13th. It felt really good to get out and ride again on the LT.

The new u-bend fuel line is installed and I took it for a quick spin around the yard a couple of evenings ago. Now to put all the bodywork back on...

Today, I picked up a Clymer manual the previous owner found. We talked about how I got the bike repaired and had a nice visit. He was glad it was running again!

I think I solved the reason for my flashing ABS lights...the rear brake reservoir was dry. I used a tool I created and marketed many years ago (actually, one of the early plastic prototypes), to pressure bleed the rear brake circuit. I am not seeing any signs of leaks, and the brake hoses are in good condition (they appear to be OE replacements, though, and not Spiegler braided stainless replacements - which is what I'll use if I do find them to leak).

Then I reassembled everything - first time since I bought it that it's all together.

Surprisingly, there were fewer parts/bolts left over than I anticipated 😁.
Anyone recognize something vital?

The rain from earlier dried up and I took a quick test drive with the bike - everything is running (and stopping) great!

For my cross country trip this year I finally added a shelf I had been looking for over the years.
I purchased from jriverside. (Thanks so much, Jim!)
I mounted 2 GPS units and my I-Pass transponder on the shelf.
I also added a couple pair of blindspot mirrors.
One pair went on the mirrors, and the other on the lower wind deflectors.

Upper and lower adjustable blindspot mirrors seem to work in the garage. lol.
The lower rectangular mirrors are on the side wind deflectors.

Nice looking setup you have there. I had often thought of adding one of those 180 degree holographic mirrors but wasn’t due how they would react with an adjustable windshield.

Thanks! I haven't seen a holographic mirror before!
I have no idea how it would work with the adjustable windscreen either.
Thanks for sharing!

Definitely like the shelf. Been looking for one of these myself.

Here is what’s on my LT. The shelf is plastic so not capable of holding anything to heavy acts mainly as a sun shield, the round disc is the
Sirius radio antenna. The Garmin mount is fastened to the Stingray.

Wow! That is a fancy mount for your GPS! Who makes those?

If you can give me a little time I’ll try and find out for you. It came with the bike. I’ll see if it has a brand name on it somewhere. It may be a Garmin 🤷 or it could be a custom jobby. Will be in touch.

I removed the mount to check underneath but found no markings of any kind. The chrome ball mount is from R-A-M. I’ll keep looking online to see if I can find it. It could be a custom made one. It fastens to the stingray using two of the rubber captured nuts like the rest of the bike. It also has two adhesive support buttons that sit on the stingray itself. Sorry can’t be of much more help at this point.

You’re very welcome. If you should desire a copy I could take measurements and angles etc and maybe draw out a template for you to cut from. So just ask. Breaking the bends well that’s something else. Obviously from the thickness it would probably need a metal workers shop for that work. I’ve had a quick look online but so far drawn a blank.

Wow! Thanks again and again!
I think I can come up with something with just your photos... I do metalwork, and I am an artist/sculptor, and I have time. ;)
