I have 130k miles on my 99 and wondered if it is time to change the water pump
seal. It looks like in the manual that it is integrated with the oil pump too.

Has anybody ever needed to rebuild this and how many miles did the bike have when it was done?

Thanx,
Wolf

I'm of the thought, if it isn't leaking and you don't have either a water pump or oil pump problem leave it alone. There isn't a gasket there to replace as you use a self forming gasket/sealant.

Thanks for the reply, Steve.
I guess there is'nt anyone that had to replace the seals in either pump.
Actually, that is comforting to assume.
I was going to replace the timing chain tension guides and since I was in there,
I would do the waterpump also.
Saves me some work.

Cheers,

Wolf
