Recently rode throughout most of this state, and thought I'd share the rides that were really really worth the trip.

Highway 20 (was headed East) Best between Concrete and Okanogan.
Town of Winthrop is worth planning to spend some time.
Gorge hydro plant has a very nice visitors area
Diablo Dam

Highway 155 Electric City to Dry Dam Falls
Different scenery - along Grand Coulee
Grand Coulee Dam

Missed the turnoff to 821, so can't comment, but the route looks interesting.

97 Leavenworth to Ellensberg was OK
The town of Leavenworth is also worth planning time to explore.

Highways 410 and 706 through Mt Rainer area. 706 has a nominal park fee to access.
Paradise visitor area off highway 706 is a good side loop to take.

Highway 25 Randal to Cougar
Narrow, twisty, and several "rough" spots from frost heaving I suspect.
Ape caves worth visiting.
99 to Mt St Helens and back

Highway 504 to Mt St Helen's is scenic, though not too challenging.

Highway 20 - North Cascade Highway isn't too shabby either. Probably the nicest stretch of road I've ever been on.

Not much experience there
But Hwy 2 is a must.

Riding from Whidbey Is. to Mukilteo in a steady drizzle(I was not on the bike)

Now I'm ready to ride Everett to Spokane road of choice hwy 2
And it was so good I would do it again. :thumb:
Rain turned to bright crisp morning and many twists and turns crisscrossing rivers many times.
ride safe :bmw:

This is the river I had as my company

much of the day

It turned left it turned right

I had it to myself most of the time. When it changed sides I didn't :histerica stayed on the right. Hwy2 gets :thumb: :thumb: my vote
ride safe :bmw:

This is a terrible place to live. Rains all the time, everyone is bleedin' heart liberal, and the buffalo and Indian roam.

No one can pronounce the names of rivers or town correctly!:(

Please tell 'em how awful it is!!!!;)

Nice pics...
20 back to Everett seems like it would be a nice way to go?

Highway 2 yes indeed..... Leavenworth? ... I still don't get it - Tourist trap.

IN Spokane now hoping to move back to the West side one day soon.

Sorry to disagree. I avoid Hwy 2. Way to much traffic, police, and traffic jams. Hwy 20,410, or 12 are the only passes to take over the mountains. And I live less than 4 miles from hwy 2. Hwy 20 is the best!

+2. Unfortunately, Hwy 2 also has the distinction as having the highest rate of accidents and the most dangerous of any highway in WA state.

Other than that, it's a nice ride. :D

Another reason I seldom ski at Stevens Pass any longer.

Well I would not argue with 3 distinguished WA residents.
I don't know if time of day(Thurs morning after rain in Mukilteo) had anything to do with it. But I enjoyed your state ride. I remembered some road work crews, and a few trucks going the other way. Aside from that I was left alone to enjoy the sound of the river, my bike and faded music in the background.
Thanks for telling your local constabulary to give me a clear berth :histerica I really appreciated it.
ride safe :bmw:

Well there is no perfect way across, just some more perfect than others... I know the 90 from the Gorge East of Vantage to Ellensberg can sometimes have vicious winds I would rather not deal with...
