Thinking about riding UT 30/NV 233 from Snowville south to I-80. Can anyone offer info on this road (paved, some gravel, fuel options, etc.) for a mid-May trip? Many thanks.

Hi:

I have rode this route many times. I live in Logan, Utah and often travel Highway 30 to go to Wendover, Nevada for a little gambling and entertainment. Living in Utah can get a little boring. Anyway, the highway is paved all the way to I 80 between Wells, Nevada and Wendover.

The road is good and well maintained, but it can get downright lonely and times. The area it traverses is unique, desert environment. The road actually skirts the North end of the Great Salt lake.

Watch out for range cows on the road and remember it is about 150 miles without any services. There is a little town on the Nevada boarder called Montello, where you can get gas is the store is open, which is iffy.

If you have any other questions let me know.

Walking dude.
