I have been relying on the computer to get my MPG. Being disappointed with 35 MPG, 2 up pulling a trailer. I decided to manually check my MPG after every fill up and was actually getting 40 +- MPG.

The moral to this story, don’t rely on the computer for MPG. Do a manual check and maybe you will be surprised at what you are actually getting.

IIRC, that BC can be recalibrated to display the correct MPG. Somebody?

The BC on my bike is usually within 1 mpg, but not always. The biggest difference, other than riding style, being the ethanol content, which drops my mileage about 10%.

Two up, windshield full up, ~40 mpg.
Solo, windshield down, ~46 mpg (w/ethanol).
