My old pal over in the Fatherland that works for a certain Bavarian motorwerks firm scored me this little farkle. Plus, I had to find a supplier for 2.5mm machine screws. Took some time to retrofit it correctly as you can't take the liner out of the topcase lid. You don't see too many Toscana Green LTs with these. Anything that adds chrome and functionality verks for me!

Thanks, Gents. I asked this guy about getting the elusive handle over a year ago.

The piece has four extruded, circular, knurled screw receivers(nuts?) on the back side. You have to drill the holes large enough for them to fit into the topcase exterior then have them in a position where the screw heads are low enough to be in the thinner section of the lip but high enough not to interfere with the opening/closing/locking operation. Still made me cringe to drill holes into a perfectly good topcase. You know how they say "measure twice, cut once?" I measured about ten times. I coated the screw receivers with my wife's mascrara, positioned the handle, and then pressed to get a temporary, circular imprint for hole positioning. Of course, in BMW's finest tradition there were two sizes of screws 2.5mm and 3mm plus adhesive on the outer wings to set properly. A bit more involved than I anticipated!

Glad Ted likes it. The goal was to help "num" some of the pain and boredom.
