Received this note: his SO Michelle is there and her best friend, wife of another LTer, is now there.

This is an update on Sherman Brown. He apparently developed a gallstone that blocked his bile ducts. This has caused him to develop pancreitis and ultimately
several other complications. He is in critical condition, but holding. They are keeping him heavily sedated because of the intense pain. It's pretty much wait-and-see
at this point. They indicate it may be 1-2 weeks before any significant improvement. Yesterday they started him on a new antibiotic that penetrates the walls
of the pancreas much more effectively.I'll keep you posted.

I know he has developed other complications, but hopefully they have operated to remove the blockage (and probably his gallbladder) already as that will be his quickest road to recovery.
