Just a FYI.

Have pulled the plastic (rt hand side) for the first time....noticed a disaster about to happen. Local agent had serviced the bike ('99) a coupla hundred miles back and must have replaced the screws incorrectly....one of the long ones was in the position top left of petrol tank....result: small hole being slowly worn in tank!

OK, is not a good thing but is no problem. Clean with alcohol use some liquid gasket or just silicon and close this hole use wet finger and smooth the surface.

Yep, those screws in the small piece near the seat must be the short ones. Anywhere else you can get away with the wrong length.

As an extra.....should these screws have (plastic?) washers?
