I have her apart to drill the slave weep hole and found some oil outside the tranny output seal. My seal should be in the mail today. What is the most efficient way to remove the old seal? Run screws into it and pull with pliers??

Joe,

That is what I would do. Drill a couple of small holes and run drywall screws (not too deep)into them to pull it out. Less risk of damaging a sealing surface since it is a rather small seal. On larger ones I woud drive a small flat blade screwdriver into the body of the seal and wrestle it out.

Joe..

When you drill, do it slowly with smallest bit you have.

Use the "screw" to "center punch" the seal first.. that will minimize any "roll out" as the bit starts to bite.

Then drill slowwwwwly. As soon as the bit cuts through, STOP. This will minimize filings behind the seal.

I would drill 2 holes, 180 degrees across from each other.

Take pics if you think it is worthwhile.
