I have run matched ME880 tires up until my last rear change. I installed a BT020 given the good experience others have had with the rear Stone, front Metz combination. The good news is that the wear does seem much less than with the Metz. I just returned from a 4700 mile trip to NL and had probably 500 miles on the rear when I left. So, well over 5,000 miles mostly at max gross weight and the tread looks to be half worn at most. If this tire lasts 10K, it will beat my best Metz by 1,500 miles!

The downside is that I hear a 2-3 Hz beat frequency that I do t recall hearing before installing the rear Stone. I can't be sure it is tire noise, but it doesn't sound mechanical and it only varies slightly with speed. Anyone else running this combination hear a low frequency beat?

Any tire will make noise, some make more noise than others.
The noise will be more pronounced in turns, not to worry..It's normal.:)

The Metzelers hummed in the corners. The Stone not so much, but I suspect it makes a noise just a little different frequency than the Metz and is beating against the front Metz.
