Most electric fuel pumps I have had make a clicking sound. Does the BMW one click? I hear a steady sound for a few seconds.

Thanks,

David

Tried starting fluid, started but not running, syphoned fuel tank and am putting in some fresh gas. Also, does all the tupperware need to come off to check fuel filter. Any other ideas would be appreciated.

Not all but most of it. From memory what you'll need to do is:
Drain fuel tank
Remove Front seat
Remove panel in front of front seat
Remove mirrors
Remove wind deflectors
Remove front tupperware on both sides
Remove seat frame over fuel tank
Disconnect fuel lines (very carefully if you've still got the original quick disconnects - very easy to break the standard plastic ones), elec cables, vent and drain hoses etc (mark them coz they need to go back on the right way)
Remove fuel tank
Turn tank upside down
The fuel pump is inside the tank - remove the ring clamp thingy (mine needs to be unscrewed, but I understand different model years have different setups here)
Remove fuel pump assembly

Yes it's a "fair bit of getting into it" but I've done it twice now and it's not too bad. I use a cardboard bolt template to make sure I know which screws/bolts go back where, as there are quite a few of them. Go slow and steady and it all happens faster than you think!

I'm doing this from memory so if I'm incorrect someone will chime in, but hope this helps!
