Thanks! Problem solved

Howdy:
A few days ago I posted about an odd shimmy I was getting at around 65-70 mph. I just wanted to say thanks to everyone that replied..it was very helpful.

The good news is that it wasn't anything serious. The mechanic at the 600 mile service checked everything you all suggested, but it turned out to be nothing more serious than the Micatech top case I had installed! Take off the case, no shimmy. Put it back on, shimmy reappears!

Needless to say, I was quite relieved. I like having the Micatech case on there, but it looks like it may have to go...maybe another size or brand might be different.

Thanks again.

Find the adjuster for the rear shock and firm it up a little. A be sure not to use a death grip on the bars.
Likely you do not need to change your case....
Hey Racer7..
Yep, tried all of that..didnt help at all...worked with suspension, took off and reattached topcase...etc. Just one of thsoe things, I guess. As for death grip..can't imagine ever having a death grip on the GS!
Thanks for your input.
