Hey Guys,
I have been reading this forum for about 2 years now and have seen reference to "tech sessions" several times. Are these Dealer/BMW sponsored events or "local get togethers" held by users of this forum.

I have had my 04 LT for 2 1/2 years now and have 28k on it. I have done the normal fluid changes but am considering doing some of the routine and preventative maint. on it soon...ie clutch, valves, fuel filters-fittings, etc. that I read about on here. It would be nice to attend any of these Tech sessions when they are held.

Thanks,
Steve

They are just local (and sometimes not-so-local) get-togethers simply sposered by forum members. They can range from two guys to a couple dozen. Tons of fun, a great way to meet forum members, the best way to learn your bike, and you get work done for cheap cheap. They are a LOT of work for the host though.

Thats what I thought....wouldn't make sense for the dealers to "push away service business". Sounds like a good time and very beneficial. I hope I see one in the Northeast this year....... Thanks, Steve

Being right up the road I am going to be doing some work and will call out for a Tech Session. Looks like shocks, steering damper, fuel, air filter, Tupperware removal of course, and maybe a slave weep hole while it is naked.

So I will call out when I have the shocks and we can see how it goes from there.

There is a few guys down Lancaster way that have great knowledge I just don't know them well enough.

We will just see when I call out for help who would be willing to help me.

Lee,
We chatted on here a while back. I would definitely like to come if you do anything. I am definitely considering the clutch slave weep hole for mine.

Cool. I am mostly waiting on shocks to dig in.

My idea of a Tech Session is to have it prepped for the procedure, in other words have it down to the components needed to be worked on. I think it saves time and if you get someone with good experience it does not hold them up from walking you through the procedure.

Sort of like moving, when I ask for help there is nothing left that one person can carry, unfair to ask help to carry what you can.

Anyway I have now timing yet and I have a tripe to NC in the end of June so we will see when the shocks arrive.

Go for it gang! Hopefully someone form your corner of the country with some experience will chime in soon. If they don't however, just make sure you have access to a computer so you can toss any questions out here in this very forum. You will probably get a response in short order from someone who has done whatever the task is.

That's the great thing about the Internet: it matters not if you're right next door, across the country, or across the ocean, the answer can be almost immediate from our site here!

Enjoy!

Lee, is it the Hyper Pro shocks you are waiting for. If so, how long have you been waiting?
