does anyone know which bolts will drop motor and trans as one?
Or does the arge alloy frame connect to swing arm and complicate it all.

I have so far dropped exhaust, rear wheel and removed most larger bolts on the sides so far.
Upper motor mount on left side of bike near radiator is loose but must have a nut on back.

any pointers would be appreciated

There are 3 main bolts, I believe. The one on the left that you are referring to does have a nut, the one on the right doesn't.
there is one long bolt/nut at the transmission (Above) you have to pull out. There are small holes on the each side of the frame to get access to it. The repair manual should be able to show you. Unless you've already done it, there is alot of hoses and wiring to disconnect before you drop the engine. slow and steady. If you are replacing the engine TAKE PICTURES or number the connections. I did both.
Hope that helps. I'm sure others can help also. I have only done the clutch a couple times, but a few more steps I could drop the engine.

Zeke is correct there is one at the top of the transmission and one at each side of the motor in the front. It will be obvious once you remove the radiators and other "stuff" prior to dropping the engine combo.

Have you had any luck? Is the motor out? can you attach a pic?
If it is the set screw, there are ways to drill it out.

bought a replacement shifter arm, goit already very cheap on ebay, Got 2 engine mounts on.
Attached wires etc, filled with oil
Started ok after having to get gear select in N and kickstand attached.

set some leaves on fire but started ok.
No real running, too much fire out of bottom for garage running.

Did not take final drive off of swingarm, shaft came off rear spline, anybody know how to get it back on without removing pivot rear bolts?

I put in brass pivot when I did clutch and did not want to remove that since it is in there nice.

Thanks for all the advice, should be back on rubber soon, still hanging from 4x4 harness now

I am not sure I have ever heard of anyone successfully getting the FD spline and drive shaft back together without removing the FD from the swing arm. You could spend a lot of time trying or just pull it apart and get it done.

If it came out when you removed the swing arm/FD assembly then it was NOT locked onto the gearbox output shaft. Unless the front half stayed put when you pulled the swing arm. No real way to get it all back together without the ability to drive the shaft onto the output shaft and lock it in place. For that you need the FD off the swing arm.
