I am getting ready to store my bike for one year. I plan to put stuff in the gas so it doesn't go bad. I will also put the battery tender on the battery. Should I take the battery out of the bike? Is there anything else I have forgotten.

We store our bikes up here in the north every winter. We put a piece of steel wool in the tail pipe to keep out the rodents. We also put some moth balls in plastic open top containers in several areas to gas the little buggers that think they want to make our bikes a new home. Fill the tank all the way up to cut down on condensation. Like you mentioned, fuel stabilizer and battery tender are a must.

Pull the battery.... if the Tender malfunctioned and cooked the battery you could have a mess on your hands. Pretty unlikely but...

I would use a fogging oil and change the oil/filter.

Coat everything with gobs of Vaseline.

J/K on the Vaseline. :D

I change the oil right before storage. Old acidic oil is very bad for storing a bike long term. Also, I would put it up on it's centerstand, and use a scissor jack under the motor just enough to get the front tire off the ground.
