Anybody knows if the Storage Compartment for Top Box
77-41-8-520-303 is compatible with the RT 49l top box?
It seems to be made for the K1600.

Dan - cant answer your question but one thing to think about (I learned from adding some velcro'd bits and bobs to my 49 ltr lid) is that you wont then be able to fit a helmet in there. When I'm touring - where possible I keep the top box empty and the wife and I can then leave our helmets inside whilst we go off sight seeing. If its warm we lock the helmets to the bike and put our jackets in the box instead.

My wife has a tendancy to keep those clear plastic zipper bags that sheet sets come in. I added one to the left side of my trunk lid with double backed tape for spare glasses and sunscreen. Works perfect and as mentioned doesn't affect helmet storage.
As to your initial question, I don't see why it wouldn't fit the 49L trunk...
