Kudos to Mike (sheldan2) he found a little sliver of metal when he changed the FD the last time. The bearing has 102,000 miles on it & the inner race has one little flake of metal missing. The factory preload was .014. With the new shim it will be about .003.

I appreciate all the work and help you have done on this Dave, hopefully the new shim will be in town by Thursday. I changed the fluid on your spare drive last night and all is well. John, it was good to see you again on Saturday, hope the Honda did not give you guys any more issues on the way home.

The plug had nothing more than the usual "fuzz", I noticed a sliver of metal in the oil pan that I drained the FD oil into, approx 3-5 mm in length, this was the first time I have ever noticed anything more than the fuzz.
