Silly Recall or not?

Just returned from the Dealer (dropping off a customers bike) where I was told by Scott (service writer) that there was a recall on my K1600GTL. Looks like they will have to replace my "Dip Stick". Yes that it what I said my "Dip Stick". The recall states that the "Min" line is in the wrong place on the dip stick. :histerica Best part is the tech gets paid 18 minutes to do it. I did the whole oil change in less time. I'll take pictures of the 2 dip sticks side by side to see what the difference is when the new one comes in.

Does that mean your dipstick is too short or too long?
You need to get your dipstick fixed right away. You never know the repercussions of a faulty dipstick. BTW - let us know if Lone Star has the latest software update with the IPod & driving lights fix? Mine don't

Maybe needs a thicker dip stick. :D
I thought that all software changes came on line from Germany. Was I mistaken? Dealer told me that they connect to the German web site and it does the diagnosis and downloads updates.
Not sure about the updates as I'm not taking the bike in just the DipStick.

BTW My Dipstick is JUST RIGHT now the bikes well that's another story. :histerica
This is one heck of a conversation to join in progress... :histerica

That's the word 'round these parts too...dealer's computer links to the mothership for diagnosis and software updates by VIN. Now, if the dealership doesn't have a HSI connection...
