It seems the only difference is that an XM sat receiver is included with the 665, and I am not sure I will be using this "feature". Also I still have a brand new puck that came with my StreetPilot. Could it be used on the 660 and essentially make it a 665?
Are there other differences? Thanks!

Here's a link to the differences:

The only difference I see is the XM. I have the 665 and use to have the 550 and the 550's puck won't work on the 665 and I'm sure the same is true for the StreetPilot. What I'm not sure of is that if you bought the 660 and decided later to add the XM40 puck, would it work? If you look at the 660 at Garmin's website under accessories it doesn't list the XM40.

The 660 doesn't have the XM built in. To get XM with the 660 you also have to add the XM unit to the bike. I have the 665 and use the heck out of XM. I take the 665 and the puck in my shop and hook it to a 12 volt battery. I now have XM in my shop for free. I also use it in my truck. If I had 12 volt at the house I would hook it to the stereo as well.

Just my 2 cents worth..

Go with the 665. Even if you don't use XM services today, you may someday. And, IIRC it's much cheaper to buy the XM antenna (included with the 665) than to buy it later.

I had both a 665 and before a 660 and now I have the 550.

I tried the XM and found it inconvenient to use.

I prefer the MP3 functionality.

Just my .02 cents..

XM sounds better than Mp3 player. And it is very easy to use.

How is it inconvenient?

It costs a lot of money each year. Its only advantge I liked was the coverage in remote areas where my Driod does not have connectivity.
