I've joined the club........... my shifter linkage broke today. Limped 20 miles back to the house in 1st gear. Not fun.
Is THIS the shifter linkage recommended?
Can anyone offer instructions/insight on how to replace this linkage. Any special tools required other than a hammer & adjustable wrench?
Any advice is appreciated.

Most people have purchased the kit from Phil Johns ([email protected]). His kit just includes the longer, outer linkage, and comes with a drill bit and easyout to remove the broken stud. I personally have never heard of any problems with the short linkage and am still using the stock part.

I purchased a number of permanently lubricated ball ends last year and installed them on the existing linkage. For installation I just made sure that the overall length was the same as the stock part. The replacement linkages are a little more difficult to install since they don't come apart but are certainly doable if you take your time.
