Am I the only one to be exasperated by not being able to see and/or read anything on the on-board computer in full daylight, especially with sunshades, except with the sun at your back? I guess not. So, my question is: has anybody succeeded in tricking the light sensor on the left clock into «seeing» dark, like putting a piece of tape on it, or something, thus getting the clock to remain illuminated like at night? How did you do it?
Thanks.

Many companies make and sell a small shelf that mounts nicely over your speedo and tach, and shade the computer very well. I use one and it is also made to mount a GPS, radar detector or what ever. Sorry, a senior moment, I can''t remember where I ordered mine from; but I'll check out the net and see what I can find.

When I bought a non-glare screen for my iPad I ordered an extra one, with the idea that I'd try it on the instrument panel to see if it worked. Good idea, it's still sitting on my desk waiting for me to have a concurrence of memory and time to execute.

I have exactly the same problem :rotf: Except one step worse: I misplaced it and have no idea where I put the d... screen.

If you wear tinted shoelds or sunglasses, crack open the shield or lift your sunglasses and you'd be amazed at how well you cna see the info.
That's Catch 22 for me because my farsighted tinted glasses (the kind that automtically get darker with the sun) are also the ones that allow me to see at a dashboard distance and far away. But even on overcast days, when they remain clear, I still don't see much.

Polarized glasses make GPS & other screens difficult to read.

I could not use my Polarized sunglasses when trying to see the GPS and the XM radio on my old LT. I had to wear my regular glasses and use a dark bronze tinted shield on my helmet.
