"Police initially found no weapons in the Jeep SUV driven by Roland Vincent Carnaby. When it was taken into custody for a more detailed search, they discovered two pistols and a shotgun." Hmm, how very convenient to find his weapons after he was shot dead and his car was impounded.

Maybe it's poor reporting, but one article mentioned his wife, and that he was engaged, and talked about several "girlfriends". I know, his name's not really Carnaby. He's really Simon from True Lies. :D

The police weren't afraid of being shot when they went to the passenger side of his car and looked in and then took out a night stick and broke out his passenger side window. If he was going to shoot them, he would have done it when they were breaking out his window. He then decides that it is time to get out of the car, so an officer runs around the car and pushes the car door to on him and he falls to the ground with a gunshot in the back.

They then cuff him behind his back face down on the payment and leave him there with no first aid for twelve minutes until an ambulance arrives.

He was only wanted for speeding and not showing his CHL when he was stopped. They had already run a background check on him and could see his home address and that he had never been charged with anything in his life.

Some one was just a little too pumped after the chase and they accidently shot him in the back. Now they have to come up with a story to fit the cause.

Here is the video from ABC13 http://abclocal.go.com/ktrk/story?section=news/local&id=6118650

Mr. Carnaby still hadn't done anything threatening when he was shot in the back. He sure was acting suspiciously, but had not escalated his actions to threatening. Had he grabbed the phone and turned quickly toward the officers, then that's something different. That would have given them some justification. They weren't concerned enough during what they obviously considered a felony vehicle stop to stay away from the driver's line of sight. Breaking out the side window definitely put them in the line of sight/fire.
