Until I get everything sorted out I have a few questions. Ok, I have a lot of questions, but I will start with this one.,

I do not have the CD not is there any evidence of one being in the right side trunk, no wires, etc.

Does anyone know if the wires are there and just hidden?

I got the bike on Sunday and immedialty have to be out of town all week, till Friday, so I am home sick and new bike sick :)

I would love to get the dice to ipod attachment for my K1200LT.

Thanks in advance and hello from Florida...

You haven't told us what year your bike is, or which model
but if there aren't any wires in the corner of the right side saddlebag
yours probably isn't setup for the 6 CD player,

that's ok everybody just removes them anyway (I've got 2 sitting on the shelf)

As far as Dice I guess the new ones are supposed to be much better,

my 2005 came with one of the earlier ones and I couldn't get it to work right,
it would lock up my ipod and do all kinds of strange and annoying things.

I solved all of my problems by plugging my Ipod directly into my com system,
the bikes volume and mute buttons work and I can advance music right on the Ipod,

you might want to consider that option if it works on your year and model???

SilverBuffalo,

The Bike is a 2000 k1200LT S.

I have not had much time to eplore the bike since I have holy had it for a few days now and have been out of town the whole time.

I was wondering if the cable is somewhere hidden under the plastic that I just have not had a chance to find...

Thanks

Paul

Paul, no wiring unless it is a 'C' or an 'E' model. Also, there will be no rider/passenger intercom. I have figured out a solution that works really well for me and is contained the the following thread: http://www.bmwlt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=52455&highlight=SyMax

I always ride with earplugs/phones if I'm on the highway, in town I just listen to the NPR station (unless it is during one of their regular begging for bucks weeks). The above link will allow you and your passenger to communicate easily, listen to your own separate playlists, use your cell phone (sounds like you're at home in your living room chair), and arrive at your destination relaxed and with good hearing intact.

Loren,

I looked and there is a driver passanger intercom setup. Or at least there looks like there is one.

There is a plug in the back and some dials.

Paul, this might be great news. Take a couple pictures of it and post to this thread. I guarantee tyou that someone on this forum knows about how it works and what you need to make it do so. I'll bet if you posted a description of the bike and where you bought it someone here will be familiar with your bike.

Loren,

Thanks I will take some pictures this weekend and post them.

Now only if I can get an electronic copy of the owners manual I would be thrilled.

I have a 2005 that had a CD changer. I got my Dice about 7 months ago and it has a very quirky interface but it worked. I just returned the one I had for a replacement because it suddenly started acting up and needed to be reinitialized every 20 minutes. The new one seems fine.

As for the 2000 set up, I wil defer to those here who know better. Good luck!

You can buy the owners manuals online from BMW dealers for around $26
Here is a post from long ago with the radio manuals,
I don't know how much of it would apply to your bike.

I installed the new Dice unit on my 2002 K1200LTC this weekend. The hardest part of the process was deciding where to mount it in the saddlebag. I replaced the disc changer so, installation was straight forward. I'm impressed with the capabilities of the Dice unit.
