Went from a LT, (totaled) to a 800st, and now have a new/used 2012 rt. Every satellite radio I own retains the last station when turned off, this appears to be a hit or miss with the bikes sat radio. Is this normal for the BMW system?

I have already figured out their bluetooth setup is crap, even if it connects there is no sound most of the time, and if I do get audio it is severly distorted. already ordered the new Sena SM10 transmitter to wire to the line out plug.

I have the satellite radio package and mine always retains the last station.

I'm interested in your Sena SM10 transmitter wiring project as
I have not gotten a BT setup cause of the well known poor
quality.

Will you still be able to get all the functionality of the bike
setup - volume wheel, voice directions from GPS, phone, etc.
with the Sena transmitter?

I'm not much good with electrical but would really appreciate you
keeping us posted on your project and how it turns out.

I have the satellite radio package and mine will drop the channel and give you the generic channel 1 OR it will retain the channel. Its hit and miss.

The whole system is crap and BMW NA is very aware of the issue... Please call your dealer and have them open a PUMA case ASAP... Then bitch your head off to NA.
I had my wonderful lawyer (who is a member of this site and BMW rider) write me a killer letter to send to Jersey.

I have a 2011 RT with the satellite radio, and it has always retained the last station I had tuned. I agree that the Bluetooth has poor audio quality. I had been thinking it was a product of poor speaker quality of my Schuberth in-helmet system, but maybe I was too quick to judge. The GPS commands are all I have transmitted into the helmet audio system now, and that works quite well.

The Schuberth system sucks in terms of audio quality. I'm no serious audiophile, especially on a motorcycle, but the Scala G9 sounds pretty good in my Shoei.
