Austin hosts the Republic of Texas (ROT) biker rally every year. Way too much noise and alcohol for my tastes. Unfortunately, every year there are several fatalities. This year is no exception: three deaths and another serious accident.
As far as I know, only one of these is attributable to alcohol officially, but another one sounds very suspicious. The other appears to be the classic left turn by a driver in front of a motorcycle.
I also wonder if some of the more outrageous cruisers handle so poorly that they contribute to some of the single bike accidents.
Just another cautionary tale that alcohol and riding do not mix.
