My Bride and I are planning a few days on the road and I am looking for some in put on places to see and of course best local food and drink. I have attached a picture of the general route. I have picked places to stay based on what hotels I can cash in my business travel points, so those cannot be changed. How ever I get to these "free" hotels is subject to (and most likely will) change as needed to get the best of the area. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Dave

Outer banks

I am not sure if your time allows for it but you might want to think about hitting the outer banks on your way down. You can cut over at Elizebethtown and come back out on 64 by Mantio. Just a thought. Have fun

what a trip!

Hey Dave,
I was just able to look at your map and think that is a great trip. Send me an email and let me know when you will be in SC and I will see what I can do to hook up with you. :D

be safe!

Thanks for the input, I have added the Outer Banks into the loop. Looks great.

Dragon

Unless you have already done the Tail of the Dragon, and other associated roads, I would loop down from Knoxville and do it. Staying a day in the area would give you a lot of nice roads to ride for a day. It would be a much better route than the slab to Ashville.

Be sure you check out the scheduling for the Cedar Island Ferry in your plans for the Outer Banks. Long ride and hard to get on at some times of the year.
