If what my co-workers, who grew up in the area, say is true, stay away from "The Burg"! Not too long ago two young ladies got into a fight, yes, an honest-to-goodness FIST fight, at the Orangeburg IHOP due to the one who arrived last getting her food first. It was on youtube. If it's still available, a search for IHOP Orangeburg fight should net some results. Mean town!

Parris Island = #1

"The Depot is home to the Marine Corps' first Command Museum, the Parris Island Museum".

Give it a goggle; I have been several times and found it to be a great way to spend the day. A side note: if the speed limit is 25 go 24. My son was stationed there for 2 1/2 years. During that time; I can't count the times I made a visit to the depot and it never got old. I guess one of the reasons was I could leave at the end of the day. :D

A great day trip....... have fun..............
