I've owned my LTC since new (2002)... battery went dead over the winter even though it was on a battery tender. Just replaced it with a new Odyssey. Everything seems fine, EXCEPT pressing the button on either remote doesn't disable the immobilizer (the light is on solid) even after replacing the batteries. Also, the front and rear turn signals/hazard lights are on solid (never seen it do that before). Cycled forward and reverse. It's in neutral. Side stand up/down doesn't change the behavior. ABS seems to cycle normally. Horn works. Suggestions?

On the 2002 only the left button functions to both set and unset the immobilizer. To sync the remotes keep pressing the left button several times to get the remote synced back up. It may take awhile.

So are you suggesting I turn the key on, grab a beer, sit there, and keep repeatedly pressing the left button until it recognizes it?

I would take the beer route haha. I've heard of that working and if it does not then contact a BMW (friendly) dealership and see what they suggest. Good luck.

It may only take a couple of dozen. I did mine with the key off until the alarm responded.

It took mine 8 attempts before syncing. Good luck and enjoy that adult beverage.
