I need to replace the windshield on my 05 K1200LT and was looking for good advice. I looked at Cee Bailey which has 3 different types.
I am 6' 1" and have a Meyer custom seat.
Who else makes them besides Cee Bailey??

ZTechnik makes one, but I have had Cee Baileys -2 on all of my LTs and am very satisfied.

I am 6'01" as well, but my inseam is only 31". I suppose I may sit taller in the seat because my torso is longer.

Parabellum makes a good one. I liked the one that came on my original LT, to bad I busted it when the front end slipped out on a slow u-turn with gravel in the road. Hit it with my knee from the backside when I stepped off as it was going down.

I've had the Parabellum standard height, V-Stream, CeeBailey's flip -2" and the stock BMW. Given my druthers, I'd buy another Parabellum, but I'm cheap and I'll ride with the CeeBailey's that on their now.

The only ones that I have any experience with are the OEM tall and Cee Bailey's. I bought the Cee Bailey's to replace the OEM on my '00 model due to it's cloudy peeling effect. The Cee Bailey's was a -2 with the forward curve at the top. With it I could see over the top of the shield better than the OEM and the curve seemed to help the wind go over my head equivalent to the OEM. I am 6' 2" and fairly long legged at 34" inseam. If I ever replace the OEM shield on my '05 model, I will probably go back to Cee Bailey's due to it's incredible clarity.

Slipstream is another option. I am most likely not as discriminating as many of our forum members but I replaced the OEM on my 03 with the Slipstream at about half the cost. I found the fit and finish to be good. Only have about 1000 miles on it so far but am satisfied. I have not seen any of the others mentioned so I can't provide a honest comparison.

+1 $89 for a new tinted shield & delivered I didn’t expect much, but sometimes you get more than you paid for. This was one of those times.

If you are still in the market, I just posted a like-new Ztechnik Vstream (their Standard size, untinted) windscreen for sale in the Classifieds.

Within a couple of hours of posting this in the Classifieds forum I had 4 replies. This item is sold. Thanks for letting me interrupt.

I'm in the market, too. The stock TALL one is fine for me, but the Mrs, on the other hand, complains about buffeting.

Soo...that said, any ideas? I like to look OVER the windshield. 6'2", but mostly legs (36" inseam). I have the TALL stock shield and can see over it until about 1/2 to 2/3 extension.

So, which one makes the better half MOST happy in your collective opinions?

I have two-up experience with (in order of increasing satisfaction):
  • The BMW short windshield. It was awful - for my wife and me. Very noisy. I hated it; my wife liked it even less. Could not even communicate via intercom when at highway speeds. It was on a K1200LT service loaner that we had for a few days.
  • Ztechnik Vstream Standard. Much better than the BMW short windshield, but not as quiet as:
  • Cee Bailey's #2 with wings, -2". We had this for several years on our first LT, and just put it on our newer LT. This works very well for us. Your experience may differ, as there are so many variables.
The CB #2 has the "reverse curve", and is intended to be looked over, not through (per CB), and the "wings" option is what we think (non-scientific opinion) reduces buffeting for the passenger.

We would like to try the same Cee Bailey's windshield, but the -1" and standard height - just to see what they are like.
