RE: adjusting valves.....................
Well, I got my parts...(had to buy five new cam followers)
Put the intake cam in and could not get the front bearing cap on.....
loosened all other caps up and slid the cam rearwards and the front cap went on.........
So.....although nobody has mentioned it, is there a reference position for the intake cam forward or rearward ?? Or does ity just find its own place by itself when running ?

The front cap should always be the last one on. You can help that by making sure the cam is pushed to the rear when tightening the other caps. Once that cap is on the cam is held in place latterally by the cap and the front gear. You will see a flange at the rear of the front journal on the cam.
