So now I am done with the Weep hole.

I got everything back in it's place, and I think I even did it right. :D

Now I am on to my next project - the rear brakes. I think there is something real funky going on back there.

Check out the pictures, the pads are wearing on the sides?

Finally, I think I am going to replace the rear rotor. It has 17k on it, but if you look at the picture I think it is worn out. I measured it, and It seemed like it was less than six mm. I was told it was a stuck caliper that would wear it down like that, but both pistons could be pushed back by hand. That can't be a stuck caliper, can it?

Never mind about the rotor. I just got my gauge working (digital and the battery died). It measures 6.8 MM to 7 MM depending on how hard I squeeze the gauge. Still good I woud say.

I am still curious about the pads though.

One other question - do I reuse the bolts that held the rotor on? They look good to me, but the manual calls for new bolts.

I'm not sure what you mean by wearing on the sides. The angle you showed didn't indicate anything terribly wrong to my eye. Are you confusing the beveled edge of the pad with wear? If you take pictures looked edge on at a couple of the pad edges, then any uneven wear would be easier to see.

I think you just answered my question - they bevel the edge of the pads? That is what I was looking at.

Not quite yet.... I still need to figure out what I am doing. :D

Oh, and that beer would take the fun out of talking to myself. Doing it like this on the internet keeps me humble. :)

On the bright side if anyone else searches and sees my litany of simple questions on these things maybe they won't have to post.
