seems like every time it has rained (like once since May) or very heavy dew in the mornings my radio decides to work again but only for a few minuets, It usd to do this after l washed it and would work for a day or so then the screen would read "NO RAIDO"
it finally rained like a banchie here last night, even got caught in the rain, 60mph p hail on a bald head is a good enough excuse to wear helmet. sure enough this morning it worked for about 2 min then shut off and said NO RAIDO??
when it first started over 2 years ago it seemed like colder temps would make the wires contract enough to make a tight connection but as soon as 70 deg. no raido, I have never had the sting ray off till a few weeks back.
I have read some of the posts listed here, but no one mentions moisture "making" it work

I have tried ele.contact cleaner & ele. grease but still NO RAIDO

any ideas? other than sending it to England or where ever a few have sent theirs

2006 LT

Thanks Guys....

yes, remove the tupperware, flip the stingray reomove the weather protectors and disconnect, clean, apply de-ox, and reconnect all the connections. While in there do the same to all of the connector plugs. May solve your problem and prevent others.

+1 on what Joe said.

You can also do the Jensen RADIO swap if you want to upgrade for new functionality. I cannot imagine this is too much more than shipping your radio halfway around the world and back.

I do know that if you use a radio that is not a BMW radio or is not the correct BMW and you use the normal harness you get the 'No Radio' message after a few mins and it shuts off.

When I first got my bike I had exactly the above scenario. I resolved it by wiring an alternative power source. Actually I fitted the fuzeblock gadget.

This resolved the issue until I could source a suitable replacement radio. Then I reverted back to the stock wiring system.

Not saying this is your issue, but it may help others.

I am assuming your radio worked ok at some point.

Edit: Just had a thought. It may be cheaper to see if Motorworks(http://www.motorworks.co.uk) has a suitable replacement. I think mine cost £60.

will I be able to ride the bike while the stingray/raido is off he bike and Im working on it?

guess Im worried of security / whatever else might be involved.

Oddly, my '03 does the opposite.

Ride it in heavy rain and something electrical stops working for a while. Usually the radio or comm system, GPS or cruise.

Not to worry, couple of days in the dry and everything works again.

Not sure if you're talking power or reception. The connection at the base of the antenna gets heavily corroded and makes the radio intermittent.
I have power to the system but no modes work just says no raido display

THANK YOU for the antennae thought. I will try that asap!!
