Hi All,
Just a reminder to those, like me, that become oblivious to potential problems. I just did the 12,000 mile tuneup on the bike about a month ago, and the bike, a 2001 LT is running great. Smelled a faint gasoline odor for a couple of days, and pulled the right fairing and cut on the ignition and got a stream about 4 feet out from the bike. On my way home from work, I lost about 1/4 a tank of gas!! Man, I am so lucky that it did not catch on fire. First time I've had problems with the disconnects in close to 120,000 miles on two LT's. Always replaced the o-rings etc.....Sooooo, replace the disconnects with stuff available through our friends on the list, or the dealer's upgraded male connector. Best to all, see you in Gillette. Bob

Would be good to file a safety defect report with your NHTSA. If we get enough reports - may prompt a recall or at least an investigation.
